We have a few cows of a very special heritage breed here at Shoals Creek Farm. Sally is our 3 year oldcow and Oliver is her calf born in July last year. She is currently bred and should calve on or about May 2, 2013...hoping for a heifer this time!
They both have excellent temerperments! She has been milked this past lactation, but is currently dry. They have been a lot of fun! Their size and disposition is what sold me on this breed. I have always loved cows, and wanted to have some milk to make certain cheeses and butter with. Very easy keepers and the meat from this breed is delicious.
